The Street: A Photographic Field Guide to American Inequality

This book is a visual taxonomy of inequality using Camden, NJ as a case study, organized around sixteen color photographs of urban landscapes taken by MacArthur Fellow and renowned documentary photographer Camilo J. Vergara. Photos are accompanied by short essays written by a diverse group of scholars who interpret Vergara’s images to decode the visuals that betray the unequal landscapes of American cities.
