RWJF Young Leader Award

Naa Oyo A. Kwate was one of 10 recipients of the first ever Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Young Leader Award. The award recognizes leaders aged 40 or under for their exceptional contributions to improving the health of the nation.

New paper published

A new paper in the Journal of Urban Health shows that predominantly Black areas of New York City have longer travel distances to a variety of retail stores, after controlling for key population characteristics including median income, subway ridership, retail demand and population density. The abstract is up on the publications page.

The next big ideas in science

Naa Oyo Kwate participated in the NIH Common Fund’s invited Focus Forward workshop May 17-18. Scientists were asked to present ideas/programs for possible funding by the Common Fund.
