Naa Oyo A. Kwate was one of 10 recipients of the first ever Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Young Leader Award. The award recognizes leaders aged 40 or under for their exceptional contributions to improving the health of the nation.
A new paper in the Journal of Urban Health shows that predominantly Black areas of New York City have longer travel distances to a variety of retail stores, after controlling for key population characteristics including median income, subway ridership, retail demand and population density.
